Got the second cup of coffee here and finished the almigurt. It's just occurred to me that I haven't put any of my recipes up on my site yet. I think I'll have to start with the "Tortilla de Maultaschen" which is a typical swabian dish prepared in the form of a spanish tortilla (omelette to you and me).

Ingredients: Pack of 4 Maultaschen (Aldi, or any major supermarket south of hannover), 4 eggs, oil for frying (olive is best), and ciabatta bread to eat with the meal.

Preparation: Slice up the maultaschen into thin strips (each maultasche into about 9 pieces). Seperate the eggs into whites and yolks and beat individually. Put about half of the strips of maultaschen in the beaten yoke and make sure they are covered in it, then mix in the rest, doing likewise. Cover the base of the frying pan in the oil and put on maximum heat. When the oil starts to bubble put in the maultaschen strips (which are now covered in egg yoke). Stir around the pan so that all pieces get heated evenly. When they start to brown add the egg white and mix it in for 30 seconds and then leave to form a tortilla base. After about 5 mins the ingredients should all be stuck together by the egg. Place a plate over the pan and quickly turn it over so that the tortilla is on the plate. Now slide it into the pan again to cook on the other side. After about 2 mins it should be ready. Slice up tortilla and serve with bread and cheese, and why not go the whole way and open a bottle of red wine too.

Well that's this week's cookery lesson, got to have some more of that coffee. Mmmm. Just an observation, but at 4.30 in the morning on the radio station SWR3 they are playing Jenifer Lopez, Let's get loud. I turn the music up but no-one seems to notice (all asleep in their beds). In fact tonight has been quite good for the radio, they have only repeated about 2 songs so far, although they have only played 1 Santana. Never mind, someday they'll play my request as well...

I seem to be spending too much of my time writing this journal that I'm no longer doing anything on my website. This'll have to change. Until Later.
